1. Bill 15 Vote: She Created a Bill to Harm British Columbians Day-to-Day Life
Bill 15 (The Infrastructure Projects Act) was created and pushed through the legislature by Bowinn Ma. By voting "Yes" to her own bill, she gave the provincial government sweeping powers to bypass local municipal zoning, city councils, and environmental rules. This controversial vote shifted decision-making power to backrooms in Victoria, completely cutting out the voices of North Shore residents.
2. The 2019 DRIPA Vote: Silence and Compliance
Major legislative changes require leaders who ask tough questions and fight for transparency. Instead, on the 2019 DRIPA vote, Bowinn Ma just followed the crowd, stood quiet, and voted YES. We didn't elect her to blindly follow party orders—we elected her to speak up for us.
3. The Rhetoric: Calling Constituents "Uninvited Guests"
An MLA’s job is to unite their community, not divide it. Instead of treating the people who live, work, and pay taxes here with respect, Bowinn Ma has embraced rhetoric that labels British Columbians as "uninvited guests" in their own province. Our community deserves an advocate who respects everyone they represent, rather than using polarizing language that alienates local families.
4. Infrastructure Failure: Forcing Displaced Carihi Students to Protest
As Minister of Infrastructure, Bowinn Ma is responsible for delivering public capital projects. Yet, nearly 18 months after a devastating fire left Carihi Secondary students displaced and shuffled to satellite locations, her ministry has dragged its feet on funding real repairs. The situation became so frustrating that Carihi students used their annual field trip to Victoria to stage a rally right outside the legislature, demanding she finally fix their school. B.C. students shouldn't have to use their school trips to beg the Minister to do her job.
5. The Traffic Crisis: Total Inaction on Bridge Gridlock
Every single day, thousands of North Shore residents waste hours trapped in soul-crushing bridge gridlock. Despite her engineering background and leadership over regional transportation studies, Bowinn Ma has failed to deliver the real, heavy-duty relief our community desperately needs. We don't need more endless studies, committees, or talking points—we need an MLA who will fight aggressively for a Third Bridge and real solutions to unlock the North Shore.
